Our mission is to create pathways from poverty by mobilizing the caring power of our Yavapai County Communities through our Community Impact Initiative. In 2009, United Way of Yavapai County transformed into a "Community Impact" funder. We no longer seek specific agency designations. We leverage small employee donations by funding programs created by existing nonprofits to address unmet social service needs no one agency can achieve on its own. We currently fund 13 programs involving over 140 county nonprofits and service groups. In 2013 we will focus on developing key collaborations among civic leaders, elected officials, nonprofits, educators, and community advocates to create a long-term plan to address homelessness, food insecurity, early childhood education, teen graduation and workforce development.
