United Way of West Georgia, Inc. Has been in the local community since 1957, and continues to provide funding and leadership to 25 partner agencies. United Way operates with a small staff because of the tremendous community volunteer support if continues to receive. The Board of Directors are community leaders who volunteer their time to set the course for the organization. Allocation volunteers help us provide the transparency that is one of the hallmarks of United Way of West Georgia. Every year our partner agencies must apply for funding. Every year we recruit 50 or more community volunteers, led by board members, to review the applications, and budgets, go on site visits to the agencies and make informaed recommendations about funding levels.
