| The United Way of Greater Plymouth County established in 1922, is a volunteer driven nonprofit community convener that discerns and responds to the most urgent needs of our neighbors and in the 22 cities and towns (Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Easton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Marshfield, Middleboro, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rockland, Stoughton, West Bridgewater and Whitman) that comprise greater Plymouth County. Our United Way raises financial contributions from local businesses and individuals and enlists volunteer support from the community and then targets the gathered resources in order to have a real impact on the local needs that the community has identified. Through a competitive process, United Way volunteers allocate these resources among creative partnerships of quality non profit organizations whose actions will generate measurable outcomes leading to lasting changes in the community that improve the lives of our neighbors. |
