| Since 1922, United Way of Greater Greensboro (UWGG) has provided a strong foundation to improve lives. Originally called the Greensboro Community Chest, the organization was created in response to fundraising techniques established during World War I.
Just as the economic, social, and philanthropic landscape evolved, so has the work of UWGG. Through this evolution, we have successfully served as a central fundraising organization for local nonprofits that have supported our direction toward greater Community Impact for 93 years.
With the support of many stakeholders, UWGG conducts an Annual Campaign that is invested back into Greater Greensboro though 28 partner agencies and collaborations that deliver returns for our community through 63 innovative programs, and 24 initiatives and grants. UWGG builds strong relationships with business and community leaders to ensure it creates the greatest possible community impact with donor contributions. The impact must make a sustained change in the lives of people most in need so that all individuals and families can succeed |
