We all win when a child succeeds in school, a neighborhood turns around, families have good health, and workers have solid jobs. And we believe education is the key to developing and sustaining healthy communities. UWSHR recruits people and organizations that bring the passion, expertise and resources together to solve broad social problems we can't solve as individuals. Donations always have and always will fund essential and urgent services – food, shelter, preschool so children are ready for kindergarten, emergency services for victims of violence, and support for local military families while a parent is deployed. But, with thousands of our children dropping out of school every year, we realized there's even more work to do. So our new initiative, United for Children, is building a powerful coalition of public and private partners to drive educational success for our poorest children with enough force and focus to break the cycle of poverty.
